Personal Motive

Why would anyone create (ostensibly) a blog in 2021?
For a few reasons.
First, it’s not a blog. It’s a notebook and I aim to treat it as such.
I find that taking notes while working on things is inherently helpful. Yes, all of that stuff teachers said back in school is actually true. Writing things down, especially by hand, is helpful for thinking things through. Capturing ideas serves as a means to reflect and connect - actions that aid in leading to skill.
Skill being the ultimate objective.
Second, as a notebook, this isn’t writing necessarily designed for others. The grammar will be lax. The editing largely nonexistent. The topics will potentially meander. And the publishing rate will probably vary based on the frequency with which I get to devote myself to work. Placing these on a different (and inherently social) platform seemed like a waste.
Finally, keeping these in a digital format makes them inherently more useful for potential future experiments. After a year or two of doing this, I’m interested in seeing what contours can be teased out using NLP, and what potential insights I can gain.
So, if you’ve stumbled on these and you find them useful, great. I don’t assume I’ll be adding things like comments down the line, but one can never be too sure.
