No Time to Die
2021
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

My notes
This might be heresy, but I found this to be the best of the recent Bonds. Cary Joji Fukunaga did an admirable job directing, with some really fantastic light paintings and color uses. Despite being the longest of the recent films, this was so well paced that it never felt long. And the plot actually seemed to bear causal relations rather than the "And then…" of other films. By no means a perfect film. Ana de Armas was under used. The love story was rushed (again). But at least the film seemed to ask a similar question to my question of Spectre, "in the modern world, what is Bond even for?"
